DelayS
A downloadable plugin
DelayS is a stereo delay VST FX plugin that faithfully recreates the audio processing characteristics of the Nintendo DS. Designed for retro game composers, chiptune producers, and sound designers, DelayS outputs audio at 16-bit, 32kHz, staying true to the Nintendo DS’s hardware limitations while offering modern usability.
DelayS captures the lo-fi, crunch, and rudimentary reverb heard in classic DS soundtracks. Plus, it includes game-specific presets based on popular Nintendo DS games, making it easy to achieve the signature delay sound of the era. Usable with virtually any DAW (FL Studio, Ableton, Logic, Reaper, etc.).
Features:
- resize
- Dry/wet mix
- tempo sync
- Left and right delay time and feedback controls
- Presets from popular DS games (more added regularly!)
- DS accurate 16bit 32khz audio output
- antialiasing filter
Available formats:

This is a pretty neat plugin, and I've had my fair share of fun with it. I was curious to know if, since the delay manages to emulate the DS' audio output and antialias filter, a full-on DS speaker VST ever crossed your mind? I think an effect plugin simulating the DS' DAC encoding could be pretty neat and I'd definitely buy it!
Not only has it crossed my mind, but it's something I've been working on in the background!
