Hi, i had an issue with getting my activation key after purchasing, once i signed into steam to obtain the key, it said "There are no keys available at this time, try again later" can you send me a key please?
Edit: issue fixed, i had a code from the evil pig guy purchase and that worked for all discs!
Hi, this is an issue with itch labeling this as a "Steam key" but it's got nothing to do with Steam at all. I'm sorry about that. Since you purchased, you should be able to download the file directly from the page here on itch. They key you received will be entered into the plugin itself when opening it for the first time.
Sorry for the confusion! - itch has no method to get rid of the word "Steam" so it's kind of stuck that way.
No worries, and thank you. I am loving the product so far, these sounds are super nostalgic and very convincing! excited to really put them to use on a composition.
I cannot stress enough how I think GuyEngine will become the standard for GameDevs / Composers trying to capture the 32bit / Retro era of sound design.
An absolute staple going forward for my Gamejam and comissioned work.
Is it possible to make the controls accessible in the DAW? For instance, in Ableton you can typically add plug-in parameters to the bottom panel, which can then be automated within Ableton.
I'm on MacOS and Ableton 10. I click the "Configure" button on the plug-in panel in Ableton, but then when I click on parameters in the VST's window it doesn't add parameter controls like it should. I tried it with an Arturia VST and that worked fine.
Hmm that's odd. I'll need some time to look into that, that's very weird. Especially since the functions are present on the UI. I'll start sniffing that one out.
I got the full version now and there is lots of amazing stuff to make retro video game music with. I think, this one will definitely end up in one of my Cubase templates.
Just one thing I noticed: The drawbar organ seems to have a bugged sample-loop in higher registers. It's especially apparent when you play long sustained chords. Other than that, I don't think I've found any bugs.
Love the core idea/presentation of this VST but it needs to be registered very often. Is there a way to get it to stay registered between projects/VST instances? I'm using it in FL Studio in case that helps.
Hey thanks for your comment. This is the first I've heard of this issue, so let me see if I can help you!
You will have to register each "disc" one time - but after that there should be no trouble. Try using the "register" button rather than the window that pops up when you start it.
Try this:
Start a blank project
Load GuyEngine
Close the register window without entering your key
Click the register button
Enter your key
Change to disc 2
Repeat until all 4 discs are registered.
Test each disc to make sure sound is coming out
Close FL Studio
Now any project that is using GuyEngine - regardless of number of instances - should be registered permanently.
OOH it's probably just that I wasn't aware the discs needed seperate registration, that's a little unintuitive so it might be worth clarifying that in the install instructions as it lead to a slightly confusing first impression. Had a lot of fun with the plugin yesterday.
Haha it's actually in the installation instructions that are included with the download! You're right that it's unintuitive, unfortunately I'm bound by the limitations of the program that I used to make the plugin. Please feel free to reach out if any other issues arise!
Ahh my mistake, I was looking at itch for install instructions.
Might be an idea to ammend the line "It says you will receive a "steam key" - but the key is actually to register the plugin when you run it, nothing to do with Steam." to add something about activating the discs separately and set expectations about how regtistering works more clearly as I made my assumption based on this.
It doesn't actually have any sounds from real games - all of these samples are 100% original. But they are inspired by the Nintendo 64, PlayStation and Sega Saturn.
Oh my god, sir you are amazing. I hate sound designing, some days it just gets in the way. But this is awesome, no virus nothing bs like that. I had a false positive but there's no issue in the files, rest assured. I think its worth the purchase. Keep it up, I'll be browsing SoundFontGuys shop now, see ya!

Thank you very much, that's very kind!

Otherwise it sounds great, thanks!
Hey, great question! The controls should be accessible in the DAW! Are they not showing up in Ableton?

Plugin works great except one thing that seems bugged, the Evil Pig Guy addon instruments are all playing the steel drum sound with them.
Oh snap! Let me fix that! Thanks for letting me know!
Okay, should be fixed now. If you download the new file and replace the old one, everything should be smooth. Thanks again for letting me know!
On the download page it's still the same file as before, at least for me. And no problem!
Should be good now!
Hi, is it possible to reproduce sounds like the old resident evil ones :)
The plugin does have some sounds that are reminiscent of Resident Evil, but I think RE deserves its own expansion. Something to think about!
I listen to RE a lot. Everybody around me loves it. DO IT. Definitely going to buy soon. Yeah I'm that broke lol.
yes please do it <3

Nice catch, thanks for the heads up! I just fixed the loop point and it'll be reflected in the next update.

That's good advice. I'll update the description so it's more transparent.
As for the steam key, itch unfortunately won't let me change that, for reasons unknown 😕
Does this have sounds of the N64?

Very, very nice. Already started making yume nikki type stuff with it. Def recommend it, especially for the price tag.
Thank you!
