sorry if this was already answered, is there a native fl studio plugin version so that i can utilize native fl functions such as slide notes and portamento sliding?
First of all, thank you, been using Guy Engine for 2 months now and love it loads. I'm someone who uses VGMTrans & Polyphone a bunch, and was wondering if GuyEngine has support for uploading SF2s rather than just samples? Would love to get some of my kits saved in my presets and to run through the FX.
Hi there, I purchased GuyEngine V2 and started tagging a bunch of sounds as favorites. After about 2 hours of auditioning samples, my DAW crashed unexpectedly (Cubase 15 on a MacBook Pro M1; this was the only plugin loaded).
I reopened my DAW and then reopened GuyEngine, and to my surprise, most of my favorited sounds were gone. Do you have any idea what might be going on? Does this mean favoriting sounds doesn’t always save reliably?
I just lost a bunch of time, and I’m worried that re-auditioning everything might lead to the same issue - either another crash or favorites not saving properly. At this point I’m not sure how much I can trust the plugin’s stability.
The favorites thing is a quirk of the framework we use (HISE). It saves your favorited presets periodically, and then again when you close the plugin or DAW. If the DAW closed unexpectedly, then it's likely the plugin didn't get the chance to save properly.
As for the crash, I'm not entirely sure. I wonder if it has something to do with the recent updates to how Mac handles C++, but I'd only be speculating. Did Cubase or your system save a crash log that you could share?
I'd like to troubleshoot the crash together before going any further, if that's alright.
Thanks for the response, I searched for the diagnostic report but can't find it. If I get this issue again and find a crash log, I'll let you know so we can check together.
Do you know what's the time interval for the favorites autosave?
yo I just want to say that this plugin is really awesome, you did a really good job! I plan to use it in my projects, and I really want to purchase GuyPalette and other expansions in the future
Just updated to GuyEngine V2, deleting all older versions of it. But it doesn't show up in any DAW. Did everything the install guide said, even making a new folder "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\GuyEngine V2\" it just won't show up... Any fixes regarding this?
Tested it again on another system. First test on Win10 - Ableton Live 11 & FL Studio Second Test on Win11 - Ableton Live 12 & FL Studio (didn't have the old version of the plugin installed)
Seems the Plugin is just broken in its current state.
Absolutely loving it so far! Is there a way to import my own samples, or is there a manual available somewhere? I also am having trouble understanding exactly what multi-timbral means. Is it just multiple sounds layered, or can I choose between 3 different samples?
Multitimbral means you can layer up to 3 sounds (using the built-in sample library). I'll link a video at the bottom of this post!
As for loading your own samples, there is a sampler that you can use. In the video linked below, I point out a button that's kind of hidden which opens the other timbres. On the other side, there's a similar button that opens the sampler!
Hello! I just baught the engine in Gumroad, but I can't seem to find the "GuyEngine V2_1_0_0_Samples.hr1" file to initiate the library. Can I get some help please? I'd appreciate!
im still on the guy engine v1 cuz if im gonna be honnest, i was not expecting v2 to arive as quick as it did, so i gave it a whirl for a year. i gotta say, going to move on to v2 for variety sake, but there is something about v1 that feels so... raw? love the ui update for v2, but v1's aesthetic of "y2k sound font library with a sick ui", something about it just fits my vibe. Has the exact same charm as the ui for MTV MUSIC GENERATOR 2 for the PS2. :D
[my music is much more inspired by the launch title game from the PS2; Evergrace, and the vibe of v2 is much more PS2 inspired so i think the vibe switch will fit my music making mindset like v1 did] i know that v2 has a lot more tools and toys to get down with as well, but i cant shake the feeling that there is something in v1 that just still feels right i guess. even though you consider it obsolete, i'd say v1 still left its mark on my music this year and has helped me make tons of bangers! kudos to u my friend, thank you for making such a dope product, TWICE! :3
Haha thank you for saying that! I'm definitely glad to hear that you enjoy both for different reasons. There is something kinda special about v1. I had to shelf it just because the framework I used when making it is just so limited, I needed to be able to do so much more. That's how V2 came to be actually. There were things I wanted to do that I just couldn't because of the limitations. If you're still using it and getting enjoyment out of it, then that's great!
Hey! The serial number is found in the "My Library" section of your itch.io account.
- Click the little arrow in the top right corner of your screen - Click "My Library" - Click on "My Purchases" on the left - Click on GuyEngine V2 - Scroll to the bottom where it says "Claim download key" - Click the button that says "Claim download key" - Write it down! 😁

Hi! Is there any chance there could be a Linux version of this?
Some day! I'm working on it 😩
I'll wait patiently then! Thanks!

Works now with the new update ! :)
Hi, I can’t seem to find the “Alive” expansion anywhere. Is it currently unavailable, or has it been discontinued?
(Sorry if I’ve missed something...)
The Alive expansion is an exclusive expansion for my patron supporters!
Thanks for letting me know!
